Convener of the pro-development group, Esan Agenda, Mr. Akhere Obozele, has described the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki as a superlative performer, hailing his strides in infrastructure and industrial revolution in the state.
Akhere, in a statement, said Obaseki, in the last five years, has not only repositioned the state’s economy to be viable and globally competitive, but has pursued pragmatic and life-transforming reforms and projects to positively impact the people, placing Edo on the path of sustainable growth and development.
The group noted that despite the paucity of funds facing states, Edo under the leadership of Governor Obaseki has become a huge construction site with several projects to improve the livelihood of Edo people and ensure economic prosperity for the state.
“Apart from his commitment towards an infrastructural and industrial revolution in Edo State, one other area Governor Obaseki has hugely invested in is agriculture. This has helped address food security as well as created thousands of jobs for citizens,” he noted.
Akhere said, “Obaseki is a superlative performer with the interest of the majority of Edo people at heart. The governor has continued to change the narrative, setting a new standard of performance in the public sector and attracting new verve to transform the state and set it up for greatness.”
The convener added, “From the massive construction of roads to link up communities and open more areas for economic activities, to physical infrastructure that dot the state’s landscape, Governor Obaseki has continued to place the people at the center of Edo politics, and we are very glad to have him at the helm of affairs.
“The newly revamped Edo College of Nursing Sciences with new lecture halls and offices, laboratories and state-of-the-art equipment to facilitate new-era medical learning is there for everyone to see; the 700-capacity ultra-modern central park terminal, the tech hub, Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, the Benin River Port, Enterprise Park, CCETC-Ossiomo Power project and other interventions to prepare Edo for the industrial revolution and technological switch-over are all of public knowledge.”
The group further stated that the governor’s glowing leadership acumen and his desire to positively impact the lives of majority of Edo people have continued to endear him to the citizens, reassuring that the youths, especially those of Esan extraction, will continue to support and partner with the government to ensure that development is spread across all Edo communities.
