Benin City- Edo State deputy governor, Rt. Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu has unveiled Coach Moses Aduku as the new Head of technical crew of Edo Queens football club, just as he commended the Super Falcons for their spectacular display at this year’s WAfcon tournament currently holding in Morroco.
Comrade Shaibu who charged the new Edo Queens football club coach to heat the ground running by winning trophies as from next season during the unveiling yesterday said if the Super Eagles c had put up such determination to play for over 50 minitues Nigeria would have qualify for the world cup holding in Qatar later this year.
Commending the Chairman of the state’s sports commission, Mr Yussuf Alli for making it possible in finding a first class coach for the Edo Queens football club, Comrade Shaibu noted that what is critical to the CV state government is opening up sports to drive development as the location of the state has made it vital in achieving this enviable height.
According to him ” ln ensuring that Edo regains it’s number one position in sports,the present administation at it’s inception embark on facility tour in order to ldentify where facilities we’re lacking and how to improve on existing ones’
” We have rebranded Bendel insurance and government is poise to do so for Edo Queens so as to attract sponsorship from the private sector”.
” As we speak I new standard has already been set for the state owned clubs and it’s only in Edo state both the male and female clubs receive same salary in the country without disparity” he said
On his part, the chairman of Edo state sports commission, Mr Yussuf Alli said the purpose for hiring a first class coach for the club is to bring the team to a winning wave in female football,adding that with coach Moses Aduku coming on board Edo Queens football club is go to go for trophies as from next season
Responding,the newly unveiled coach, Moses Aduku promised to replicate what he did with Bayelsa Queens football club by winning trophies yearly.
The Sagbama, Bayelsa state tactician therefore reassured that as from the next season Edo Queens football club will not only win trophies but would secure continental ticket, even as he jokely said the three trophies he has led Bayelsa Queens football club to collect in Edo will be won back.
High point of the ceremony was the singing of the contractal agreement by both parties and presentation of Edo Queen football club jersey and faze cap to the new coach.
