BENIN CITY – The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare, the second has tasked leaders of different ethnic groups in Edo State to collaborate in tackling security challenges in the State.

Oba Ewuare gave the advice when leaders of Arewa Community in the State paid him a courtesy call at his palace in Benin City.

The traditional ruler emphasized that it is easier to assist security agencies to fight crime through unity and peaceful co-existence of the various ethic groups.

“…It is always easy to easy to achieve peace and security when there is oneness, not division. It is easier to find solutions”, Oba Ewuare said.

But the monarch, expressed concern over complaints from some traditional ruler, arising from security crisis in some parts of the State.

“We will try our best. As it is all over the world…I wonder that Nigeria, with so much cultural diversity and religions, there is still domestic terrorism, according to him.

Earlier, the Chairman of Arewa Arewa Community and Sarkin Hausawa, Alhaji Adamu Isa, pledged loyalty to the Benin throne, and sued for his blessings.

He extolled the sterling leadership qualities of Oba Ewuare, the second thanked the traditional for his support, prayers in unifying Benin Kingdom.

Fausawa also sued for closer ties between Benin throne and Arewa Community and Villages that are administered by proxies of the monarch in order to succeed towards crime prevention.
