The second round of the 2023 Edo FA Federation cup competition begins today, Thursday, March 9, 2023, with the defending champions Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin paired against amateur side Etete FC in the first match at the Western Boys College Mini Stadium in Benin City.
The second round first match is scheduled to kick off at 9:00 AM as the NPFL Group A leaders Bendel Insurance FC begin the defense of the title they won in 2022 with Etete FC who dumped out Osemwengie FC 4-2 on penalty after A 2-2 in the first round encounter at the Western Boys Mini Stadium on Tuesday.
The 2022 FA cup runners-up Insurance Feeders will be in action against Konstance DK FC on Friday in another second-round battle for a quarter-finals ticket. Kick-off time is 3:00 PM at the School of Health.
Other second-round fixtures scheduled to hold on Friday include FC Rolly vs West Gate at -9AM at Wetsern Boys Mini Stadium.
Yak FC vs Delight FC -11AM;
Dynamite FC vs Royal Force at -1PM and Adia Sports vs Eagle Wings at -3PM at the same Western Boys College Mini Stadium.
Meanwhile, in the last matches of the Edo FA Federation Cup, First Round played on Wednesday 8th March 2023 at the School of Health Technology Sports Complex, Dumez Road, Benin City, West Gate FC progressed to the second round after beating Future Stars 4-2 via Penalty shootout following a 3-3 draw.
Elite FC walkover Morsko FC 3-0 after a no-show. Etto FC and Mission Side FC ended their battle in a 1-1 stalemate before Etto FC won 4-1 via penalty shootout while Konstanz DK FC was victorious against Alhaji FC on a 5-4 penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw.
