….. The Benin Arsenals are the only team yet to taste defeat in the Nigerian top-flight league this season. Meanwhile Akwa United head coach, Ayodeji Ayeni promised his side will put an end to Bendel Insurance’s unbeaten run in the Nigeria Premier Football League this season

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Group A leaders, Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin, look confident to consolidate on the 2-0 victory they recorded in the league curtain raiser against 2020 champions Akwa United when they host the second-placed visitors from Uyo in the week eleven game on Wednesday (today) at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin. The kick-off time is 4 PM.

Insurance shocked Akwa United in the current season’s opener in Uyo with two unreplied goals from Imade Osarenkhoe and Sarki Ismael and have since remained unbeaten after ten games.

Monday Odigie’s managed Insurance returned from Aba on Monday with more confidence after pulling a 1-1 draw with the most successful club in Nigeria, Enyimba International FC, in a revised fixture on Sunday. Recall that Insurance FC defeated Enyimba FC 1-0 in the first-round fixture played in Benin.

The Benin Arsenals, no doubt, are in good shape to gun down dangerous Akwa United when both teams lock horns today (Wednesday, March 29, 2023).

The Benin Arsenals are the only team yet to taste defeat in the Nigerian top-flight league this season and currently lead the group of champions with 24 points from ten games, six points clear of Akwa Utd, who occupy second position on the table.

“There is no doubt that Bendel Insurance is enjoying a good run of form. They came to Uyo and got all three points on the opening day, and we are in Benin to recover the points we lost at home”, Ayeni added.
