The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Group A leaders, Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin, look confident to consolidate on the 2-0 victory they recorded in the league curtain raiser against 2020 champions Akwa United when they host the second-placed visitors from Uyo in the week eleven game on Wednesday (today) at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin. The kick-off time is 4 PM.
Insurance shocked Akwa United in the current season’s opener in Uyo with two unreplied goals from Imade Osarenkhoe and Sarki Ismael and have since remained unbeaten after ten games.

The Akwa Utd tactician, Ayodeji Ayeni, threatened to cut Insurance FC’s lead when both locked horns at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Wednesday.
“Wednesday presents us with another opportunity to continue our push for a playoff spot which is our first target this season, so I can boldly say that we are in Benin on a mission,” Ayeni told the club’s official website.
“There is no doubt that Bendel Insurance is enjoying a good run of form. They came to Uyo and got all three points on the opening day, and we are in Benin to recover the points we lost at home”, Ayeni added.
A win for Insurance FC in Wednesday’s encounter will extend their unbeaten run and lead by nine points before their weekend tie with Plateau Utd.
