Chairman of Egor Local Government Area, Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia has commenced the grading of earth roads across the 10 wards of the Local Government Area to restore a good driving surface both in streets and lanes.

The Chairman, who made this disclosure while addressing pressmen in her office in Benin City, reiterated her commitment to the well-being of Egor residents, emphasizing that the welfare of the people is her priority. As such, she would work to ensure that her impact is visible in the infrastructure development of Egor.

Hon. Ogbemudia further assured the people of Egor that her administration would ensure an upward thrust in the development of the local government on all spheres, with particular focus on security and environmental sanitation.

According to her, “security personnel have been deployed to strategic locations within the Local Government Area to ensure the safety of the people and orderliness within the locality.”

The council boss urged the people to shun participation in social vices, as any form of criminality would be strictly dealt with, while urging residents and motorists to desist from the act of throwing litter from their vehicles, as the act could result in the blockage of drains and eventual flooding.

Speaking on sanitation, the Chairman noted that the council had employed special aids to clean up roads and trim overgrown weeds along major roads, emphasizing that the usual Monday market sanitation had been reinstated with strict monitoring, as a taskforce had been deployed to marketplaces to ensure compliance.

She therefore sued for the support of Egor people in the state government’s reformation agenda.
