Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Dr. Eric Osayande, has taken his administration’s road rehabilitation programme to Emotan Road in Ward 5 of the local government area.

On Tuesday, the Odionwere of Emotan Street, residents, others were in jubilant mood as the LGA moved materials to the street to commence work, forming part of the over 300 earth roads now rehabilitated by the Osayande-led administration.

Ward 5, covering St. Saviour, Avbiama, Umelu, Evboligun, Ihinmwin, parts of Upper Uwa and several other communities, has gained significantly from the road rehabilitation programme, with over 20 roads already rehabilitated in the Ward.

With Emotan Road added on Tuesday, residents, traditionalists in the area were seen raining prayers on the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande.

In her words, leader of the traditionalists in Emotan Street, Patience Uhunuamen was full of prayers for the Osayande-led administration, praying in local language, “Just as you have fixed this road, may the ancestors bless you, forward shall you go. Thank you so much, your name shall be heard for good.”

Residents in the area have said they will continue to support the Osayande-led administration as it has shown to be a people-centred one.

The Osayande-led administration’s road rehabilitation programme continues to open up hitherto closed roads across the LGA for human and vehicular traffic.
