BENIN CITY – The Oil Sustainability Programme (OSP), a global Clean cooking fuel initiative with the aim to reach 750million homes worldwide has countinued the awareness and sensitization campaign on the use of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.

The major market places and environment, door to door sensitization, the local government secretariat was visited by the awareness team.

Out of the 36 million households in Nigeria, only seven percent use LPG for cooking in the country.

This campaign is meant to increase the awareness for the domestic use of LPG because of its comparative advantages over other sources of cooking.

The use of clean cooking gas delivers several levels of the gas transition objective, enhance the socio-economic strata of the society as well as guarantees environmental preservation.

The objective of the OSP program is to inform Nigerians that the use of cooking gas is achievable in Nigeria.
