…as Campus Models Carnival kicks off April 20

Campus Models Worldwide on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to The Nigerian Observer to further solidify its partnership with the media organisation.

The visit came ahead of the commencement of the 2024 edition of the highly anticipated Campus Models Carnival taking place at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, Airport Road, Benin City, Edo State, on April 20th and 21st, 2024.

The Campus Models Worldwide team, led by the CEO, House of Khylah Model, Kadiri Sylvia Eseose, and the head of model management, Peter Uchechukwu, arrived at The Nigerian Observer premises with the campus model queens representing various universities across different cultures, where they were received by the Acting Managing Director, Osa Victor Obayagbona, Acting Editor, Chuks Oluigbo, Chief Economist/Business Editor, Teliat Sule, and Marketing/Advert Manager, Iyayi Owegie.

Speaking on behalf of the organisers of the Campus Models Carnival, the House of Khylah Model CEO, Eseose, expressed her gratitude to The Nigerian Observer for the support and commitment in previous editions and for the greater support ahead. She emphasized the importance of collaboration in enhancing the voices of young African talents and providing them with a platform to shine on a global stage.

She further said the Most Beautiful Campus Queen Pageant, which is part of the Campus Models Carnival, was slated for April 21st and would produce the next Most Beautiful Campus Queen.

Also speaking, Peter Uchechukwu said that the 2024 edition of the Campus Models Carnival was expected to have twice the number it had the last time because they had so much plans in motion.

“We have so many sponsors than we had the last time and we know it will be much bigger than the last edition. Our major sponsors are MTN, CMW Food and Grills, Lush Hair, Enived Travels, Rayzee Signature Hair, Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, and lots more,” Uchechukwu said.

She said the purpose of the courtesy visit was also to further expose the models to the work environment.

“This allows them see what the working space is like, especially for university students who are in their final year. Coming here today is also an opportunity to showcase them to the outside world so that when they are out there they can be by themselves,” he said.

The Nigerian Observer, in turn, appreciated the visitors, reaffirming its dedication to championing initiatives that celebrate Africa’s rich heritage and empower the youth.

The Acting MD, Mr. Obayagbona, offered some words of encouragement to the models, urging them to keep working hard as “hard work still pays”.

In appreciation of the visit, The Nigerian Observer presented some copies of the newspaper to the Campus Models Worldwide team. The queens from different schools seized the chance to interact with The Nigerian Observer Editors as they eagerly posed questions reflecting their aspirations for the future. Their inquiries delved into various career paths, with a particular interest in journalism and personal growth. The exchange highlighted the broader mission of Campus Models Worldwide and The Nigerian Observer, emphasizing their commitment to empowering young African women beyond the realm of modelling.

The Campus Models Carnival is a celebration of fashion, style, beauty, creativity, and a platform to showcase remarkable talent that exists within the fashion industry.

A breakdown of the programme shows the event will kick off on 20th with a Celebrity Fashion Weekend featuring Fashion Show and Carnival Parade, where talented student models will take the centre stage to showcase the latest and trendy stunning designs by amazing designers like Ndiiche, Duvanni Apparel, Zaggi Fashion Home, Melofash, and many more renowned fashion icons and influencers who will also share their expertise and tips in the fashion business.

On 21st April, the event will continue with the Students Celebrity Awards 4.0 featuring Award Ceremony and Pageantry, where the Most Beautiful Campus Queen will be selected and crowned from among the beautiful queens in Nigerian campuses.

The Campus Models Carnival event will be graced by talented Nigerian artistes including Qing Madi, Boy Lumi and Lammy. And that’s not all, there will be amazing hosts lined up to make the event even more exciting, the likes of Monique D Vibe, Modella, and Chibbi.
