… as Edo ALGON pays solidarity visit to Deputy Governor
Edo State Deputy Governor, Engr. Godwins Marvellous Omobayo has said the developmental strides of Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration are a testament to the continuity and consolidation of the PDP and its candidate in the upcoming gubernatorial election in the State.
The Deputy Governor stated this on Friday when he received Chairmen of the 18 Local Government Councils in Edo Staet in his office.
Omobayo described the sterling performance of Obaseki in the last seven years as monumental, noting that the Governor’s achievements needed to be built upon by the incoming PDP administration, come November 12, while expressing optimism that PDP would emerge victorious at the polls.
Omobayo stated that plans were being perfected by the leadership of PDP to mobilize Edo people to support and vote massively for the umbrella party and its candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo.
He commended the council chairmen for their solidarity, adding that “we are all working together as partners in progress for the good of the people”.
Speaking on behalf of his counterparts, the Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) Edo State chapter, who also doubles as Chairman of Orhionmwon Council, Hon. Newman Ugiagbe, said they were in the Deputy Governor’s office to demonstrate their solidarity and perfect strategies on how best to win the governorship election.
The Edo State ALGON Chairman noted that Edo people need dedicated leaders in the persons of Dr. Asue Ighodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie, to sustain and consolidate the good legacies of Governor Godwin Obaseki.
