The Presidency has released a video in which President Bola Tinubu is captured walking to his duty post at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The footage, which lasts for 27 seconds, shows the president accompanied by at least 15 aides as he makes his way from his official residence to his office within the Villa.

The video, shared by Dada Olusegun, Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, was captioned: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu back at his desk this morning, receives briefing from HM @bosuntijani, NCC EVC and HM Wale Edun, HM of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy at the State House.”

The release of the video comes amidst a storm of speculation generated by the absence of any pictures or videos of the president’s return to the country after a two-week trip abroad. Since taking office a year ago, Tinubu’s aides and presidency officials have consistently released multimedia content of his arrivals and departures from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, often accompanied by top government officials.

However, Tinubu’s return on Wednesday was announced in a news flash by NTA, the government-owned media outlet, without any accompanying visuals, triggering reactions from the public.

The video of the president resuming work at the Villa and receiving briefings from key ministers serves to allay concerns and speculations about his wellbeing and ability to carry out his duties as the leader of the nation.
