…pledges to implement the RAIISE agenda

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) gubernatorial candidate for the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, Osarenren Derek Izedonmwen, last weekend held town hall meetings with Edo people in the diaspora.

The town hall meetings which took place in the United Kingdom and Italy saw hundreds of Edo people present and with massive boost for the ADC governorship candidate.

Speaking at the town hall meetings, Izedonmwen appreciated the Edo diaspora community for coming out en masse to honour the town hall meetings. He reiterated his commitment and pledged to implement the RAIISE agenda when he becomes governor of Edo State.

The RAIISE agenda, according to him, stands for Rural Revitalisation, Agriculture, Industrialisation, Infrastructure, Security and Excellent. He promised to be the change that Edo State needs at this point in time.

“Those with the people always win, as long as the people are convinced and they believe change is due and they want change. So my brothers and sisters, my mommies and fathers, my message here is that time for change is now, now because we cannot continue, it is too critical for us to continue like this,” Izedonmwen said.

“But I want to mention the key points what we intend to do, our philosophy, our manifesto stands on what I called the RAIISE Agenda; Rural Revitalization for R, Agriculture for A, Industrialization for I, Infrastructure for another I, Security for the S and Excellent for the E.”

The ADC candidate stated that security is top most in his agenda because without security no meaningful development can be achieved. He highlighted some of his plans on how he intends to handle insecurity and industrialise the state through commercialised agriculture and an export-driven economy.

He solicited the support of the diaspora Edo people, telling them that it is time to reject the big parties and vote for him and his party the ADC. He told his diaspora audience that whatever happens at home affects them because they have family and friends back home in Edo State.

“It’s time for us to do things differently, it’s time for us to try somebody else, it’s time for us to race the game, I am tired just like you of the sorry state of things. I want people at home to be self sustaining so that the pressure on you will reduce, the pressure on you must reduce so I want to appeal to you, they will tell you that if you vote for a party like ADC, forget the party now focus on the individual, they will tell you if you vote for Derek is a vote waste. Appeal to your people to waste their vote, if you waste it on me we will win, if you waste it for me we will change the game for Edo State,” Izedonmwen said.

“I’m prepared, I didn’t come here just to talk, I prepared for this with 15 years of my life. I know every detail and the numbers I need. So I am well prepared. God bless you all,” he said.
