The Odionwere of Akenzua Street Pa D.E Edosomwan has expressed gratitude to Governor Godwin Obaseki for the road construction in the adjourning streets of Akenzua namely: Asemota, Arala, Okunbor, 1st and 2nd Akenzua Lanes, and Burma Star Street.

In the same vein, he thanked the Governor for finding a lasting solution to the incessant flooding experienced by the residents in the Airport Road Axis, noting that the construction of the side drains and underground drainage system has helped a great measure in stemming the flood experienced year-in-year-out in the area.

Pa. Edosomwan disclosed that before the intervention of the Edo State government, Landlords in the area had constructed high walls and staircases to prevent the flood but to no avail as the huge amount of flood often have a way of defiling the barricades, getting as high as one’s chest thereby destroying property worth millions of naira.

He said residents often take days off to dry out their property in the sun, saying the construction of the side drains has brought so much relief and residents can now sleep with two eyes closed whenever it rains. The construction of Basimi Street and Obakhavbaye Street has also helped in easing traffic from Akenzua Street whenever there is gridlock.
