Peter Aguele, State Chairman, Mobilization and Contact Committee of the Labour Party in Edo state, has described the chances of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in winning the general election as bright.
Aguele, a one time chairmanship candidate in the state previous election, stated this at Ubiaja, during a rally organised recently by APC, in Esan South East LGA.
Speaking further, he emphasizes that the party through the administration of Governor Adams Oshkosh, has improved on infrastructure and human capital development which is important, he adds that the candidates of the APC, are people whom have demonstrated capacity and competent. And as a result, the party is going to have overwhelming victory at the general election.
He further described the candidates of chief Festus Edughele Igbelokoto, APC, state house assembly candidate in Esan South East LGA, as fantastic judging by the manner he emerged winner at the party’s primary election which is a pure example of internal democracy.
According to him, “If you find out how a man was been choosen to be the flag bearer of a party you will know how far he will go, you saw today, even at this rally that most of the other aspirants who contested with Edughele, are with him. So which means they believed there was a level playing ground and because of that his support base has increased which also includes me who has moved from the labour party to come and support the comrade governor and the candidates of APC”.
“So, Educators chances are very bright, and as a man, who I have known for about seven years now, he has demonstrated consistency and prudence, he had opportunities to work in government and in that office he has exhibited high level of team players capacity. Yes, he is a man you can trust with responsibility and we believe if he gets to the house of assembly he is going to represent us well and that is what is important for Esan South East right now. Proper representation at that level because our constituency is suffering due to the recalcitrant move of the man we had there before”.
The rally also witnessed the defection of some former members including ward and unit leaders of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to the APC. Amongst party leaders at the rally includes, comrade Onions Irabor, chief Festus Edughele Igbelokoto and Hon. Andrew Akhabue.
