BENIN CITY – Edo State House of Assembly yesterday proceeded on a recess after ending plenary session for the third quarter, fourth session of the fifth Assembly.
The House will, however, resume plenary session on April 20, 2015.
This was made known by the speaker of the Edo State House, Hon. Uyi Igbe during plenary session.
He announced that the parliament during the third quarter, fourth session of the fifth Assembly sat for a total of 55 days bringing the total number of sittings for the session to 161 days.
During the 161 days according to him, the House adopted some resolutions; received a total of five petitions from members of the public, three reports from standing and Ad-hoc committees were considered while two bills and three reports are pending during the quarter under review.
The House during this quarter, the speaker added confirmed four nominees as commissioners in Edo State, seven nominees as Chairman and members of EDSOPADEC, while the parliament for the first time unanimously confirmed a woman, Mrs. Bosede Suru-Ogbebor (Esq) as the substantive clerk of the state House of Assembly.
