ABUJA – Senator Bala Mohammed, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has described President Goodluck Jonathan as a role model in Africa.
The minister gave the appraisal in an interview with State House correspondents after the president received FCT Christians who paid him Easter homage at the Presidential Villa.
“Mr President has shown that he is an enigma and he has come and spoken from the heart what he saw in Nigeria, his own vision and his philosophy in life in terms of sacrifice.
“I am proud to be with him; Nigerians are proud to be with Dr Goodluck Jonathan, he has shown that he is a leader.
“He is a role model and indeed, an enabler. I congratulate Nigerians for having a leader like him, who felt obliged, who felt the burden of leadership as a mark of sacrifice and service to humanity,’’ he said.
The minister said it was an opportunity to be with such a man who would continue to be a landmark in the annals of Nigeria history.
According to him, Jonathan’s decision on the presidential election has already impacted positively on the economy of the country.
The minister said that the message the president gave to Nigerians was that of statesmanship and hand of friendship.
“There is no victor, no vanquished in this election. All of us are Nigerians and we wish the new administration success in whatever it wants to do,’’ he said.
