The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has secured a landmark agreement with Dangote Petroleum Refinery to directly lift and distribute refined petroleum products, including Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK).
This partnership aims to guarantee a consistent and uninterrupted supply of PMS products throughout Nigeria at a reasonable price.
This information was announced at a press conference held in Abuja on Monday by Abubakar Garima the president of IPMAN. The new development is meant to bring about reduced fuel prices because direct procurement from Dangote Refinery is expected to lower fuel prices, relieving pressure on Nigerian consumers and also improve supply chain by eliminating middlemen will streamline fuel distribution nationwide.
IPMAN’s National President, Abubakar Garima, emphasized the importance of supporting Dangote Refinery, citing benefits of backward integration and positive impacts on Nigeria’s economy.
The partnership signals a shift towards sustainable fuel practices, contributing to Nigeria’s economic resilience and energy security.
“All IPMAN members should fully support Dangote Refinery, as it’s the ideal thing to do considering the monumental benefit of backward integration and the medium to long-term impact it will have on the foreign exchange market in Nigera,” Abubakar Garima said.
