The Nigeria Premier League clubs have recieved tough opponents from Morroco and Egypt respectively in the first round of the 2015 Caf Champions League
Nigeria Professional Football League champions Kano Pillars will face Moghreb Tetouan of Morrocco in the 2015 Caf Champions League first round with the country’s second representative Enyimba paired against Smouha of Egypt.
The fixtures earlier fixed for the first round draws of the 19th Caf Champions League held on 22 December, 2014, at the Caf headquarters in Cairo before their progress to the round of 32 from the preliminary stage.
Pillars dumped their preliminary round foes, Al-Malakia after a 5-0 win on aggregate while first round opponents Moghreb Tétouan sneaked through with a 3-2 win on aggregate over Mali’s Olympique de Bamako on Saturday.
Nigeria’s other representatives, the People’s Elephant advanced at the expense of their opponents from Benin Republic, Buffles du Borgou on 4-0 aggregate after a 1-0 away victory in Cotonou to set-up a first round clash with Smouha who progressed through a 5-3 victory in a penalty shoot out against Al-Ahli Tripoli of Libya after 1-1 on aggregate.
The two Nigerian sides made the first round of 32 clubs from the preliminary round of the elite continental club championship which started on February 13 for the first time since 2013.
Kano Pillars will visit Moghreb Tétouan, while Enyimba entertain Smouha in the first leg of the ties that will take place between March 13-15, with the second leg set for the weekend of April 3-5, 2015 in quest for a place in the last 16.
