The stage is set for the first-ever media enlightenment program for grassroots football clubs in Edo state.

The one-day event scheduled for Friday, November 29, 2024, at 10:00 am, at the Media Centre of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City is aimed at educating Grassroots Football clubs in Edo state about the role of media, and the benefits it brings to them.

The discussion will also afford the teams on how they can package their teams using the media, while teams without social media department will be taught how to open their media account, and also get sports journalists to handle their teams henceforth in the area of social media thereby selling them to the world.

The event, organised by the Edo State Football Association (Edo FA) in partnership with Magnet Africa Studio tagged “Game On” with the theme: “Leveraging Media for Football Club Growth”, will have notable speakers and media experts from across Nigeria including the Edo State Football Association Chairman, Fred Newton Erhunmwunse and Head of Media/ Publicity Committee of the Edo FA, Ken Ugbodaga in attendance.

Other notable speakers expected to school the participants are respected British journalist Simon Hughes, CAF/FIFA accredited photo-journalist Justina Aniefiok, Media personality and consultant Mansa Ayoola Adeleke (RSS), CAF/FIFA accredited photo-journalist and Chief Executive Officer of OgaNlamedia, Adepoju Tobi Samuel, among others.
