GWANARA (KWARA) – The Emir of Gwanara in Kwara, Alhaji Abdullahi Idris, has advised candidates who contested Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections to accept the outcome of the polls as the verdict of the people.
He gave the advice yesterday in Gwanara, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State in an interview with newsmen.
He appealed to Nigerians to maintain peace, adding that what the country needed now was peace and tranquility.
He said: “I wish everybody good luck. My appeal to Nigerians is to maintain peace; we need peace all over the country.
“In a contest only one man will win. Whoever loses should take courage and whoever wins should be magnanimous in victory.
“Life is not lost because you have lost an election. Life continues and we should allow peace to reign.”
