BENIN CITY – Ahead of the forthcoming general elections and in a bid for the All Progressives Congress, APC, to be victorious, the state chairman of the Butchers’ Union, Pastor (Com) Ikponmwosa Goodluck Oruhe, has charged members of the union on the urgent need for them to collect their permanent voters’ cards in their respective wards and declared Saturday 7th March, 2015 for the exercise.
Speaking to The NIGERIAN OBSERVER at the union secretariat in Benin City, yesterday Pastor Orhue noted that the PVCS are the power of the voters and for them not to be disenfranchised in this forthcoming elections, coming up on the 28th of March and April 11th, 2015 and urged them to use that Saturday to ensure the collections of the PVCs.
He pointed out that the elections would determine whether Nigeria as a country would get freedom from the hands of political sycophant that call themselves leaders or it would remain in the dark for some unproductive years.
According to him, the PDP led federal government has failed us in terms of policies and programmes, consequent upon which the chairman for change become everyday song by Nigerians as we can no longer trust the incumbent president Jonathan to take us to the path of progress in the next four years.
The Butchers boss said that to achieve positive change, everybody must partake in the electoral process and urged the members to conduct themselves in a matured manner while the collection exercise casts, as he also enjoined them to use the same opportunity to sell all the meats they have in stock to avoid over congestion in the market.
Apparently angered by the situation of scarcity of petrol, the butchers’ boss said that president Jonathan and his Comrades in government do not mean well for this country.
He said that if the president cannot build new refineries, he should device a method to repair those ones at Warri, Port-Harcourt and Kaduna, rather than importing at the detriment of the innocent citizens that supposed to enjoy these facilities and viewed the fuel scarcity saga as politically motivated.
