BENIN CITY- As Nigerians go to the polls tomorrow, the Chairman, Peace and Conflict Resolution Committee, Edo State Chief Eduwu Ekhator Obasogie, the Obasogie of Benin Kingdom has called on all citizens of the state to shun acts capable of causing violence during and after the elections.
Chief Eduwu, who noted that there was no absolute alternative to peace urged the people to vote courageously for any candidate of their choice.
He appealed to the electorate, party agents, INEC officials and all stakeholders to soberly reflect on the pains of war, stressing that “violence has never been a better option in times like this.”
According to him, the dream of our founding fathers, our national leaders both military and civilians is to build a strong united indivisible entity where people from all parts of the land can live together in peace and in unity.”
