AUCHI – The melee. created by the alleged presence of High Chief Raymond Dokpesi at a polling unit at Auchi ward 9 with a detachment of armed military.men during voting exercice on Saturday has degenerated to the adoption of the son of the State Deputy Chairman of the APC , Alhaji Usman Magaji.
High.Chief Raymond Dokpesi had alleged that Alhaji Usman Magaji had planned to assassinate him.
Alhaji.Magaji who is a leader. of the ward said he did not even know who was in the fully tainted Jeep when he rushed to the pollling unit following distress calls that High Chief Dokpesi brought soldiers who started shooting into the air adding that the occupant of the vehicle refused to come down.
He said following the incident soldiers have been on his trail all over the town and resorted to adoption of his son, security guard, cook and his relative when they invaded his home.
They were said to have been adopted this morning at about 11.00 as they could could not find him.
Alhaji Magaji explained that he had no issue with High Chief Dokpesi as he had never met him in flesh and wondered why the embarrassment.
However, reports of harrassment by military men were rife in the town before and during the elections as members of Auchi Vigilante Squard were molested while on official duty.
Chairman of. the Vigilante squard , Mallam Aliu Salam who narrated his ugly experience in the hands of the soldiers said they were beaten and made to lie down on the ground before they released.
