BEKUMA (AKOKO EDO) -The Oba of Bekuma, His Royal Highness, Oba Moses Alabi, Ojiji 111 of Bekuma Kingdom has singled out the administration of the Comrade Governor, Adams Oshiomhole for his purposeful, diligent, human and resourceful developmental strides in the state.
The Oba made the commendation while welcoming the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief (Hon.) Lucky James who was on an inspection visit to the Local Government staff Training School, Bekuma.
The visit was to ascertain the level of work being done and ongoing in the school. He expressed his profound gratitude for the development in the school, while recalling that the school has been in existence for over 23 years.
According to him, this was the first time a government official was visiting the school as previous administrations had not paid as much attention to the school as it is with the Oshiomhole led administration.
Commissioner Lucky James, who was conducted round the renovated and new projects in the school, said that with the governor’s drive, they have only seen a tip of the iceberg as more development would follow in stride.
The commissioner while appreciating the warm reception accorded him by the students and the community, said it was a rare priviledge for him to be in their midst as he had not had the opportunity of being there. Chief James however admonished the students to take their training very seriously as they are not there for punishment but for advancement which they shall certainly get.
He promised that they would get the best in terms of facilities and otherwise that they require to acquire the desired knowledge.
Commissioner James further thanked the coordinators of the school for their selfless service and sacrifices and prayed for God’s reward on them.
He also thanked the entire Bekuma Community, as, according to him, a school is owned by the community it is located in, charging them to carry the gospel of change such as they are already experiencing to everywhere.
Thanking the commissioner on behalf of the students, the Student Union President of the School, Mr. Omon Joshua said it was a privileged for him to be the Student Union President at a time the school is experiencing such development.
