His Royal Highness, the Oghieaga of Three Ibvie, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State, HRH, Mallam Ali D. Sulayman, could not contain his joy as his son, Prince Ali Abdul-mustaan Amanatullah, was inducted into the optometry profession at the University of Benin on Monday, November 4, 2024.

In a heartfelt speech, the royal father expressed gratitude to Allah for the blessing of having a son who has chosen a noble profession. He stated, “Out of nothingness, He brought us out and from nothing again, He gave us status in life. And He has blessed us with grace and favour to have children. I have always dreamt to have my children in the medical field to be of assistance to Islam in particular and to humanity in general.”

Mallam Ali also shared words of wisdom for young people, emphasizing the importance of faith and service. “The foundation of success is for you to identify, know how to relate with Allah,” he advised.

“Once you do that, Allah will accomplish and actualise you,” he concluded.

The induction ceremony was graced by distinguished individuals, including professor of pharmacology, Prof. Eric Kelly Inanemo Omogbai (retd); the Vice Chancellor University of Benin, Prof Lillian Salami; Head of the Department of Optometry, University of Benin, Prof Jennifer Ebeigbe and Professor Buniyaminu A. Ayinde in the Department of Pharmacognosy, University of Benin. Professor Ayinde is the Chief Imam of the University Central Mosque.

The successful induction of Prince Abdul-mustaan is a significant achievement and a source of pride for the entire Muslim community of the university and the Muslim Ummah in general.
