Victor Osimhen made a notable debut in the intercontinental derby, helping Galatasaray secure a commanding 3-1 victory over arch-rivals Fenerbahce at the Ulker Stadyumu Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Spor Kompleksi on Saturday.

The Nigerian striker, on loan from Napoli, was named in the starting lineup despite Mauro Icardi’s return and played a crucial role in Galatasaray’s impressive win.

Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce came into the game riding high after three consecutive clean sheets, but Galatasaray quickly disrupted their momentum. In the 20th minute, a mistake by goalkeeper Dominik Livaković allowed the visitors to take the lead. Eight minutes later, Osimhen showcased his sharp awareness by assisting former Napoli teammate Dries Mertens for Galatasaray’s second goal.

Instead of heading a cross on target, Osimhen expertly cushioned the ball with his chest to Mertens, who calmly finished to extend Galatasaray’s advantage.
