GOVERNOR Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State has urged Nigerians aspiring to leadership positions to emulate the leadership qualities of Late Premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello, in order to ensure good governance.
Wamakko made the call at the APC camapaign rally at Rabah town, the country home of the late premier.
He said that Nigeria would have acheived a lot if the current political leaders had embraced the exemplary leadership qualities of the late premier.
Reports state that Wamakko also received 7,401 PDP supporters who defected to APC in the area.
The governor advised political leaders to treat every Nigerian equal irrespective of tribe, religion, ethnicity and political differences.
Wamakko urged the people of area to shun violence and ensure the smooth implementation of the electoral processes.
He also warned them against selling their permanent voter cards to selfish politicians, adding that the permanent voter cards remained the only weapon needed by Nigerians to elect leaders of their choice.
Wamakko applauded the courage of the defectors for joining the APC.
