Abiding by directions under Order 46 Rule 4(C) of the Edo State High Court (Civil Procedure) Rule’s of 2018, the Chief Registrar, High Court of Justice Benin City, Benson O. Osawaru Esq, has notified the public of the court’s decision to proceed on recess for the 2024 Christmas celebration and New year festivity.
Making this position known through a release signed and shared with the Nigerian Observer Newspaper, dated November 18, 2024, with REF. NO. CR/4930/VII/10, the registrar stated, “The general public is hereby notified that in compliance with the provision of Order 46 Rule 4(c) of the Edo State High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2018, the Honourable the Chief Judge of Edo State, Hon. Justice Daniel Iyobosa Okungbowa has directed as follows:
That the High Court of Edo State shall be on Christmas/New Year Recess from Monday 23rd December, 2024 to Friday 3rd January, 2025 (both dates inclusive) during which time, the High Courts shall not sit.
Normal Court sessions in the High Courts throughout the State shall resume on Monday 6th January, 2025.
The Honourable the Chief Judge wishes all members of the Bench, the Bar and the general public, a Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year in advance.”
