BENIN CITY – ‘Ochuwa,’ the much talked about book authored by Mrs. Jennifer Atakpu was formally presented to the public in Benin City, Edo State weekend.
Speaking at the occasion the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Taxation to Edo State Governor, Mr. Austin Atakpu commended the creative writing skill of Jennifer.
He also commended the author’s zeal, courage and determination in writing a book of such quality that would impact positively on family lives.
“I am very proud of Jennifer: I never imagine that she can sit down and put her idea in a book form; a book with a class that touches on the intricacy of life.”
“This book is the happenings of real life situation and would have positive impact on shaping of the moral life of our children and a must read for every home.
“I encourage you all to ensure that you have it in your shelve at home, in the offices, libraries and the likes – for me, this is a great works of Art coming from a youth,” he concluded.
A guest at the occasion and lecturer in the department of Theatre Arts and Mass Communication, University of Benin, Professor Marcel Okhakhu commended Jennifer for the great book which draft was submitted to him well over three years age.
“I went to thank this woman for this great book which started well over three years ago. It is not easy putting ideas, experience into a book form. It is one thing to write and another to see a publisher ready to publish your book.”
“Ochuwa is an Estate word and it means he who brings wealth; I pray this book will bring you wealth.
You have distinguished yourself with this book and I pray the sky will be your starting point,” he noted.
Another guest at the occasion, Mr. in a chat with NIGERIAN OBSERVER said Jennifer has shown positive side of the youth, using her skills and talent to show what she has.
He commended her for a great job, saying “Ochuwa as a book represents another scursion to that firmament of creative writing.
The story amazingly creates the story of love, bitterness and betrayer and how love triumph.”
Jennifer said she was inspired to write this book after attending a book launch of chimamada Adechie in Lagos, “that journey has brought me where I am today,” she added.
