BENIN CITY-The Edo State police command has invited applicants who chose Benin City as their examination centre in the 16th regular cadet selection into the Nigeria Police Academy, Kano for the examination scheduled for Saturday July 14, 2018 at the Police Training School, Ogida in the state capital.

The applicants are advised to report at the school by 6:45am as screening of candidates begins at 7am while the examination would commence at 10am.

This was contained in a release signed by the Public Relations Officer for Edo State Police Command DSP Chidi Nwabuzor and made available to journalists in Benin City, last Wednesday.

It further explained that examiners and officials would be coming from the Force Headquarters, Abuja, Police Academy, Kano, Police Service Commission, Edo State Police Command and the Police Training School, Ogida, Benin City to ensure a hitch free excercise.

The statement added that the Commissioner of Police in Edo CP Johnson Kokumo had nominated five senior police officers led by CSP Okpako Omudhowo to assist the aforementioned examiners in the conduct of the examination.

“He also directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, DCP Olatunji Ayodele to ensure proper coordination of personnel detailed for the assignment while the Area Commander, Ekiadolor, ACP Aliko Dankoli is to ensure regular visit to the venue to forestall any disturbance”. The release maintained.

It stated that CP Kokumo also directed the Divisional Police Officer, Ogida division and the Squadron Commander 5′ Mobile Police Force to provide adequate security at the venue just as the Officer in-charge of Explosives Ordinance Disposal (EOD) was deployed to sweep the premises and its environs of any explosive device.

The release however said the Commissioner of Police advised candidates to be well-behaved and avoid any form of criminal activities and examination malpractice during the screening excercise.
