Benin city – A Benin-based constitutional lawyer, Barr. Olayiwola Afolabi has charged legal practitioners to cultivate reading culture in order to be abreast with recent development in the legal profession.

Barr. Afolabi gave the charge over the weekend during a dinner he hosted for the executive of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Edo state chapter led by it Chairman, Barr Collins Ogiegbaen at his chambers in Benin city.

The notary public who pass a vote of confidence on the leadership of Edo NBA, expressed satisfaction on the performance of lawyers in the state in recent times.

“I want to tell lawyers to always read because a lawyer who doesn’t read will become a palm wine tapper. So every lawyer should read their books and also read their bibles because it is God that will help you”, Barr Afolabi Asserted.

On his part, Barr. Ogiegbaen commended Afolabi for his support for the Edo NBA executive, and mentoring of young lawyers as “a senior member of the bar”.

“I am honoured by this dinner and this is not the first time he is doing this. He has hosted previous administration and executive Council and I know he will continue to support the bar”, the Edo NBA Chairman added
