EKPOMA – The Ambrose Alli University is soon to commence offering of Mass Communication degree programme at the school.

The vice chancellor, Prof. Ignatius Onimawo, made the disclosure while highlighting his achievements during the 2018 Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, organised by the university.

He revealed that his administration was currently constructing a building that would serve as department of Mass Communication in the university.

The vice chancellor said when completed, students that have yearned to study the course in the university would finally be able to realised their dream.

He enthused that all 68 degree programmes of the school had been accredited, with 64 having full accreditation, two interim accreditation, while two were being expected.

He added that the university had achieved dramatic and spectacular infrastructural development in the past two years, as at least five kilometres of road had been tarred within the last three years, just as all faculties hitherto domiciled in temporary small office buildings were now in mammoth faculty buildings.

“In line with the achievement of the conduct of digital examinations, three large additional examination centres with capacity to sit 1000 candidates each are being built and nearing completion.

“Most of the existing male and female hostels have been renovated and refurbished. We have also signed MOUs with at least five institutional investors for the building of hostels.

“Staff offices have been renovated and equipped. Staff have been offered viable widows of opportunities to run PhD programmes within and outside Nigeria. Staff are also actively encouraged and funded to attend national and international conferences.

“Ambrose Alli University has been transformed, repositioned and re-branded. Most of the social vices that exist in most of the other universities in Nigeria no longer exist here.

“We have push forward the frontiers of academic studies and research. We have actively engaged all academic staff to pursue ground breaking research by creating research clusters within the university”, he stated.
