BENIN CITY- President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Edo State, Comrade Lazarus Adorolo has called on residents of the state to as matter of urgency endorse Governor Godwin Obaseki for second term in office.

Comrade Adorolo made the appeal while speaking to Sunday Observer when members of the State Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), National Butchers Union, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Market Women, Youths and students under the aegis of Concerned Citizen of Edo State held a protest march to endorse Obaseki for second term on Friday in Benin City.

Adorolo said “We are in a solidarity rally in support of our governor appealing to all well meaning Edo state residents to support Mr. Godwin Obaseki for second term because he has done extremely well for the people of the state.

“We in the local government system are happy that the coming of the the governor has led to the increase of IGR in the 18 local government councils and the subsequent prompt payment of salaries and arrears in the state.

“So, we are going to give him massive support from the local governments  and do our best towards ensuring that Obaseki/ Shaibu comes back as our next governor and deputy governor respectively”, he said.

The  NULGE boss, however, revealed that his resolve to root for the governor’s reelection even when he is not a card a carrying member of any political party was borne out of the mission and vision of Obaseki to develop the state, as well as the giant strides his administration has recorded thus far.
