EKPOMA – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Esan West Local Government Division has sued for the cooperation of the Nigerian Red Cross Society in the provision security information.

The Esan West Divisional Officer of NSCDC, Azekhuoria John made the call during his courtesy visit to the Red Cross Secretariat in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State. 

Mr. Azekhuoria similarly sought the assistance of the Red Cross in giving medical training to NSCDC perseonel on how to administer First Aid,  as well as lecture them on other medical areas. 

The NSCDC divisional officer who was recently deployed to the division, said he was in the Red Cross office to formally introduce himself to the organisation.

He noted that the  current security situation in Esanland required all hands to be on deck, hence appealed to the Red Cross to avail his outfit with security information that could help curb crime in the local government. 

The Chairman, Nigerian Red Cross Society, Esan West Local Government Division, Mr. Mike Odiahi appreciated the paramilitary officer for the visit and pledged to co-operate fully with NSCDC.

He expressed the readiness of Red Cross to furnish the security outfit with relevant security information, and also volunteered to train personnel of the outfit on modern techniques of rendering First Aid to victims.

He also promised to organise seminar for NSCDC personnel, where they would  be  lectured on prevalent diseases in Edo Central Senatorial District, such as Lassa Fever, malaria fever,  among others.

The Red Cross chief disclosed at the event that members of his Division recently returned from a seminar, where they were taught on techniques of accessing volatile areas such as places affected by Boko Haram insurgency.
