BENIN CITY – Edo state Community and Social Development Project (Edo-CSDP) on Monday, praised the developmental strides of Orhionmwon Local Government chairman, Hon Silvester Okoro, following the payment of counterpart fund for projects, for five communities in the area.

The General Manager, Edo-CSDP, Dr. Gbenga Daodu praised the chairman after he presented a cheque of N1m each, to representatives of the benefitting communities, in his office, in Benin city, the state capital.

According to him, “We are indeed very grateful to the chairman for coming to the assistance of our indigent communities in his area”.

However, Hon. Okoro who was represented by his Vice-chairman, Hon. Iweka Christian, said the counterpart funds totalling N5m, was for 10 different projects scattered across the five communities, namely Ugbeghile, Ugo, Ogan, Ogba, and Owuo in Orhionmwon.

The Vice-chairman noted that, the partnership with Edo-CSDP was informed by Hon. Okoro’s desire, to extend the dividend of democracy to the various communities in the area.

He charged inhabitants of the communities to maintain and protect the projects as well as others sited in their domain, against vandals.

Speaking on behalf of the communities, Hon. Peter Izedonmwen thanked the local government chairman, assuring that, the beneficiaries will make judicious use of projects, when executed.
