BENIN CITY – The members representing Orhionmwon/Uhunmwonde federal constituency at the house of representatives, Rt Hon. Patrick Aisowieren have call on all Edolites to join hand with the present administration in Edo state to make sure that educational foundation of our children at both primary and secondary level is not negotiable for anything that can jeopardise their future.
Hon Aisowiren made this call recently during the launching/unveiling of Foundation for Innovative Literacy Int’l (FIL) in Benin city the state capital.
Foundation for Innovative Literacy Int’l (FIL) is a project targeted at
grassroot literacy advocacy for pupils and students in the state.
The primary core of this none governmental organisation, NGO, is to rise awareness and ensure proper and quality literacy education for children in public schools to guarantee quality education across the eighteen local government area.
Represented by the state Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress, Mr. Chris Azebamwan promise a continuous partnership with the organization to achieve its literacy projection for Nigeria by 2040.
According to him, it is necessary to reinvent the old structure of the three angles of elementary education which focuses on reading, writing and numeracy. Before now it impossible for a school leaver to be illiterate, i want to encouraged FIL INT’L to push stakeholders back on track for the benefit of generations coming behind us”
Earlier, the Executive Director, Liberty Omoruyi informed the guest that his passion for quality education at the foundational level something any nation who want to be among the top ruling countries should take seriously.
“Quality education is suppose to be our right not a privilege. I fill sorry for our present educational system in Nigeria, before this present administration of Gov Obaseki in Edo, our Education was almost subject to nothing, that is why we coming out to rise awareness concerning the importance of quality education at the foundation, we commend the governor for his initiative so far concerning EDOBEST.
