BENIN CITY – THE Chairman of the Edo State Youth Club Coaches Association (ESYCCA), Uwadiae Sampele has disclosed that this year’s edition of Holy Aruosa/Igue Festival of Peace Football Tournament will be hosted by Egor Local Government council.
Sample who is also the tournament director disclosed this yesterday in Benin City while fielding questions from OBSERVERsports reporter, maintaining that the sports loving Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Rex Iyekeoretin has perfected plans to making the annual football fiesta a glamorous one.
He disclosed that the competition would be played amongst the 18 local government councils of Edo State
“Egor Local Government Council Boss, Hon. Rex Iyekeoretin is fully ready to host this year’s edition of the Igue Peace Cup donated by Then Osa Harrison Okao.”, he said.
The ESYCCA chairman informed that the competition is scheduled to kick off on December 12, while the final match will be play on December 20, 2019.
Recall that the competition was hosted last year by the Executive Chairman of Uhunmwonde Local Government Council, Hon. Napoleon Nagbama.
In another development, Egor Local Government Council male and female football teams have won this year’s Edo State House of Assembly Speaker’s Cup.
The competition played at Uromi, the administrative Headquarters of Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State saw Egor girls walloping their opponents Esan North East girls in the final 7-1.
While Egor boys also defeated their Esan North East counterparts by 2-0
