Football fans around the globe anxiously await the 2019 UEFA Champions League Final, which will be played between Tottenham and Liverpool on June 1st.  However, if Betway lucky numbers are anything to go by, we will see some exciting moments. Most Betway fans believe that there is no one except Ronaldo who is near Messi. While Betway fans may be divided as to who is better, it’s no secret that Messi has had a great form as of late.

The Champions

This year’s Champions League was no less than the previous seasons, with enough twist and turns, and impeccable performances by the champions from several clubs. As every season, all eyes were on the legends, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, for some serious Champions League drama.

But with the disturbing knockout of Juventus F.C. (and Ronaldo!) from the Champions League by AFC Ajax, the fans were left shaken. With Ronaldo supporters in anguish, the Barcelona supporters wanted to see the best of Barcelona and Leo Messi. Even after the stunning performance by Messi, Barcelona fans were left heartbroken after the team lost the second leg against Liverpool (4-0), thus ending their run for the title.

Tough Luck for Barcelona

Despite their beautiful 3-0 home win against Liverpool, with Lionel Messi to thank, Barcelona’s journey in the Champions League ended in despair after they lost the 2nd Leg. Messi, who recently marked the achievement of his 600th goal was definitely not to be blamed for this loss, however.

The first leg saw Messi in his prime and the Argentine forward carried his team past Liverpool.

Even after the heartbreaking end at Anfield, the fans were in awe of Messi’s spectacular performance. One of them was the former Barcelona defender, Dani Alves.

All Praises from Alves

In an interview after the team’s exit from the Champions League, the former full-back quoted, “I still think the one untouchable person in football is Leo because of what he brings to the game. Even if things don’t turn out well, Leo’s always fine.”

He further went on to say that Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Neymar Jr. get the cover when their team’s doing good, but they also must be on cover when things don’t go well. This was based on the fact that despite the whole team’s contribution, the wins are focused on the parts of these star players. People are quick to make comments on this, however, when things go haywire these are the players that carry their clubs to victory.

So, all’s good, right?

Where Your Loyalties Lie

On a separate note, when Cristiano Ronaldo transferred from Real Madrid to Serie A, he commented that he would love to have Messi join Serie A.

To which Leo responded crisply, “I’m at the best team in the world. My challenges are renewed year after year. I do not need to change teams or leagues to set new goals. I am at home and I do not need change.”

This comment was aimed at Ronaldo, who previously ended his contract with Real Madrid, with the reason that he had conquered the League and needed to set new challenges for himself.

Clear from Messi’s remark, we don’t expect any team switching from him soon. The Catalan is happy where he is and is 100 percent devoted to the club.
