Benin City – Edo state government on Monday disclosed it would commence the test run for Ossiomo Power plant soon.

The state governor, Godwin Obaseki made the disclosure in a tweet, via his Twitter account @GovernorObaseki.

According to the governor, the power plant would ensure stable electricity supply for government owned establishment, and as well offer options to the private sector.

“The test run for the Ossiomo Power plant would commence in a matter of weeks. The cables have been linked up to a sub-station in B/C. We are on course to ease up power sector in the state for competition and bring options to residential and industrial power consumers. #LightupEdo”, governor Obaseki tweeted

Recall the state government last year signed an agreement with Ossiomo Power and Infrastructure Limited and CCETC Clean Energy to supply electricity to government owned hospitals, street lights, industrial park and other important places.
