BENIN CITY – Ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State, the National Rescue Movement (NRM) has inaugurated its governorship Campaign Council, with the assurance to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people if voted for.

The NRM governorship candidate, Stevie Nash Ozono campaign committee which is made up of young vibrant men /women of proving integrity has as it Director General, Olusola Afuye.

In his welcome address, the National Chairman of NRM, Senator Saidu Dansadua, said with the calibre of members of campaign council, his party, NRM is confident and committed to rescue the state from the hands of political captors.

“I believe that for democracy to thrive, for us to enjoy dividend of good governance where people welfare is prioritize, rights are respected, dignity of labour placed above sharp practices, resources are accounted for and government businesses are conducted in a transparent and honest manner; we need good people to be in the helm of affairs”, he said.

The party National Chairman who was represented at the inauguration ceremony by Muhammed Isa, stated that his party’s guber flagbearer, Stevie Nash Ozono, will propel the right reactions to the plethora challenge facing the people if voted as governor of the state.

On his part, the Director General of the Campaign Council, Olusola Afuye, described Ozono as a man with great passion and love for the people.

“Together we will lead our party, the NRM to Osadebey Avenue. We shall lead this state to peace, safety and prosperity. We shall take this state back from treasury looters and plunderers of commonwealth”

The governorship candidate of the party, Steveie Ozono, urged Edo people to vote for him and the NRM which he said is the virgin land that will produce much for the state.

He said “In time past, we have been manipulated to elect leaders who serve the interest of a few and not the vast majority of the people”, adding that “Edo people are not scared of Federal might and peacefully, come September 19, the people will vote for a new government”
