BENIN CITY- Edo State Indigenous Contractors Forum has commended Governor Godwin Obaseki for initiating and maintaining a very positive cordial relationship with Edo state Contractors.
The Forum also reaffirmed total support for the second term re-election bid of Governor Godwin Obaseki and presented election campaigns materials in recognition and appreciation of the positive cordial relationship with the Edo State Indigenous contractors.
Making the presentation to the state governor through the secretary to the state government, Barrister Osarodion Ogie yesterday, the Chairman, Edo State Indigenous Contractors Forum, Augustine Orhion Aimiuwu JP on behalf of the forum said the essential campaigns materials are mark of the forum’s continuo’s partnership and solidarity with the governor and the Edo state government.
“For some time now, the contractors Forum have been on air, through radio and television adverts and jingles to further propagate and enlighten the general public on the need for the re-election of Governor Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy, Rt Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu during the September 19th governorship election in the state.
“We want to thank the governor for initiating and maintaining a very positive cordial relationship with Edo State Indigenous Contractors through the awards of various contracts to Edo state indigenes since the inception of your people oriented administration in the state.
“We are happy that you have substantially fulfilled your election campaigns promises to create 200, 000 jobs through your youths and women empowerment and entrepreneuship programs across the state.
“Your people oriented administration has also directly and indirectly employed over 50, 000 Edo people, through the awards of various contracts to Edo indigenes in the past three and half years,” he noted.
According to him, even the most discerning minds and opponents in politics can attest to the success story of your well articulated policies and programs to make Edo state the first choice by foreign investors and the socio economic and investment hub in the South South geo-political zone.
Receiving the campaigns materials on behalf of Barr Osarodion Ogie, the Secretary to the State government and Director General, Godwin Obaseki Campaign Organization, the Chairman Edo State oil and Gas Producing Community, Pastor Kennedy Osifo noted that this is the first time in the history of the state that contractors are coming together to support the campaign.
He commended the contractors for being part of the success story in the state today, nothing that the achievements of the administration are the result of their creativity and for making sure that everything are done according to specification.
According to him, “the forth coming election is not a fight for Godwin Obaseki but for every Edo person. This is total liberation from god fathers and we are saying enough is enough.”
