BENIN CITY – As part of its activities to mark this year’s World Sight Day, the Edo State Chapter of Nigerian Optometric Association (NOA), has said that the association would be rendering free consultation Gluacoma Screening for residents of the state.

The Chairman of the association, Dr. Joe Owie, stated this while addressing newsmen through visual press conference in Benin City.

He said: “Optometrists in Edo State will offer free consultation and gluacoma screening to members of the public at their respective facilities”

Dr. Owie disclosed that the World Sight Day which is observed on every 2nd Thursday of October, yearly, with the intent to draw attention to blindness and vision impairment was originally initiated by the Sight First Campaign of Lion’s Club International in 2000.

While noting ‘Hope In Sight’ as the theme of this year’s World Sight Day, the NOA state Chairman, again reiterated the association’s zero tolerance to quacks as well as quackery in Edo NOA, warning that anyone found wanting would face the full wrath of the law.
