Traders, artisans, others rally for Obaseki’s inauguration, 2020 Alaghodaro Summit

Members of different traders’ unions, market associations and artisans in Edo State have rallied support for Governor Godwin Obaseki’s inauguration for a second term in office and the 2020 Alaghodaro Summit.

Governor Obaseki and his deputy, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, will be sworn into office for second term on Thursday, November 12, 2020.

Leader of Edo State Market Women Association, Madam Blacky Ogiamien, while addressing journalists in Benin City, said traders in the state are optimistic that the governor will consolidate on his administration’s achievements in the second term.

Ogiamien noted: “As the governor and his deputy begin another term of four years in office, we are confident that the administration will do more for Edo people, especially traders. He will consolidate on the achievements recorded in the first four years to transform more lives and create wealth for Edo people.

“We are excited that the governor has a renewed mandate. We will continue to support the vision of Governor Obaseki in Making Edo State Great Again. Traders in Edo will continue to support the governor who has remained truly committed and proven, with the MEGA Agenda, that he will continue with his developmental projects across the state.”

An artisan involved in manufacturing of foot wears, Osawe-Edoh Valerie, in a chat with journalists, said she is excited with the hosting of the Alaghodaro Investment Summit, which will serve as a platform for artisans to meet with potential investors trooping into the state.

She said, “The hosting of the 2020 Alaghodaro summit is another opportunity for artisans like me to meet with investors. I commend Governor Obaseki for being consistent with the hosting of the event to attract more investors in the state. When we have more investors coming into Edo to do business, artisans who are into small and medium scale production will benefit from such investments, as they increase our clientele base.”
