UNIBEN announces Feb. 1 for resumption of 2019/2020 academic session

BENIN CITY – The management of University of Benin (UNIBEN) has announced Feb.1 as resumption date for the 2019/2020 academic session.

The Public Relations Officer of the university, Dr Benedicta Ehanire, made the announcement in a statement issued on Tuesday in Benin.

According to her, students are expected to come into the halls of residence on the resumption day, adding that lectures, both physical and online, will commence immediately.

Ehanire said only students with official receipts of payment of school charges in sessions pertaining to them and had successfully filled, submitted and printed the on-line questionnaire required of them would be allowed into halls of residence and lecture theatres.

She added that students residing in the school hostels were expected to have, at least, five pieces of washable face mask and two 5mls vials of hand sanitiser each.

Ehanire also said that members of staff and students were to constantly wear their face mask, as the COVID-19 protocols would be strictly enforced by the university.

“The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Lilian Salami, on behalf of management, looks forward to welcoming all students to campus for a more fulfilling academic session,” she said.
