BENIN CITY – Poised to make Edo State a dream state, devoid of traffic buildup, the Edo State Traffic Control and Management Agency (EDSTMA) has put out a parking purview/modalities to guide against random parking of vehicles by motorists.

Speaking with the Nigerian Observer Newspaper on the road traffic law which comes into immediate effect in the state, Head of Enlightenment, EDSTMA, OMORUYI EGUAVOEN, appealed to motorists to comply with the directive to make for the ease of driving.

EGUAVOEN stated that the failure to comply with the new directive would be viewed as a, “Violation of the road traffic law, an offence, for which the offender will be contravened.”

The parking purview and its modalities show that from “Kings Square” popularly referred to as “Ring Road” there would be no parking on both sides of the road to St. Mathew Church in Sakpomba road; up to Total Filling Station in Akpakpava road; to Nigerian Observer Newspaper on Airport road; to Ugbague junction on Mission road and to Ogbelaka junction on Sapele road.

Routes where cars are to be parked on the right side of the road from Ring Road are – the New Lagos road on Forestry road; from Sapele road on the First East Circular; from Sapele road on the Third East Circular; from Sakponmba road to First East Circular on Igun Street and from Mission road to Akpakpava on Cook road.

Others are- Mission road to Akpakpava on James Watt road; to Oba Palace on Plymouth road; from Airport road on Akenzua street; from Akenzua street to Ekenwan road on Stadium road; from Oba Market road up till Isekhere Junction on Ibiwe Street.

Also, up to Mission road on Navis Road; from Urubi to Upper Lawani on Lawani Street; from Urubi to New Lagos Road on 3rd Cemetery Street; up to Sapele Road on Adesuwa Grammar School Road and from Sapele Road to Upper Sakponmba on Erediawa Street.
