BENIN CITY – The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has expressed appreciation to the people of Edo State and Nigerians for birthday felicitations and heeding his appeal for donations to the less-privileged and children with special needs.

The governor had, in a statement by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Iyoha Osaigbovo, said he preferred to mark his 64th birthday in a solemn and reflective mood, urging for donations to orphanages for children with special needs in Benin city, the Edo State capital.

The governor expressed appreciation to all those who sent him messages of good wishes, noting that he was overwhelmed with the show of love.

He also thanked all those who donated to Project Charilove and Isaac and the Osar Aluyi Foundation for Children with Disabilities, noting that the show of selflessness has lifted his spirit and those of the children who benefited from their kind gesture.

“I thank Nigerians and particularly the people of Edo State for the felicitations and donations which were given to orphanages particularly to children with special needs,” he noted.
