Nigeria Women Football League Premiership club, FC Robo Football Club of Lagos were the first to arrive the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City in readiness for the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament, which kicks off tomorrow in three venues across the city.

FC Robo players were bubbling with life ready for the challenges ahead as they moved around the stadium with so much zest, obviously set for the battle against seven other NWFL Premiership clubs and four NWFL Championship clubs.

The Chief Coach and Proprietor of FC Robo FC, Emmanuel Osahon, told BOWFT MEDIA on arrival at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium that the Lagos State team armed with Super Falcons super star, Monday Gift and Falconets star Esther Onyenezide and other dedicated players, are poised to make a point in the tournament as usual.

He disclosed: “We are yet to win any competition this year, we believe that the Betsy Obaseki Tournament may be the blessing God has been keeping for us in the year 2021 after all our efforts to win something this year.

“All I can say I that we are ready to make exploits, take our chances as the games come and make history. We know there are very strong Premiership clubs in this competition, we are on ground for the challenge. I also want to commend the organising committee of the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament for the great works seen on ground at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City. The fact that the organisers made Covid -19 test compulsory on arrival shows that, they are ready for big business.”

All the 12 clubs are expected to arrive today and go straight into the medical centre for the Covid-19 tests for players and officials.

Later this evening at 7pm at the Government House, Benin City it will be time for the official draw ceremony of the competition with all the 12 clubs representatives present.

Matches kick-off tomorrow, Monday, September 27, 2021, at three venues.

The opening ceremony has also been scheduled for the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
