BENIN CITY – Formal chairperson of Nigerian Association of Women Journalist (NAWOJ), Edo State Chapter Mrs. Amina Ebor has been awarded honorary doctorate degree from Bible Impart University (BIU) USA, Nigeria Satellite Campus last weekend in Benin City.

According to the University’s Vice Chancellor, Dr. Johnson Osamuyi, the former NAWOJ chairperson and four other honourary doctorate awardees were bestowed the honour at the University’s 9th Matriculation and 8th Convocation Ceremony for their contributions to Christianity and society at large.

“This special occasion would not come to an end without honouring these personalities of distinguished character and service to the body of Christ and humanity, we believe that these awards would boost their morale and trigger them to great success in their nearest future” the VC remarked.

While responding to the honour accorded her, Mrs. Ebor described the award as a divine honour to her. She dedicated the award to ” God Almighty and my fellow journalists in Edo State”.

Speaking further , Mrs. Ebor said “I was surprised when I received the letter for the award of honorary doctorate degree by this great citadel of learning but you see the society is watching all of us and will reward us for our good deeds at God’s appointed time. I am happy and humbled for this honour and hope to do more for humanity in my future endeavors”.

BIU has over thirteen years of existence and has graduated over one thousand students across six faculties. The school graduated a total of 40 students at the 2021 matriculation/convocation ceremony. According to the VC ” The University vision is to create a model theological university that is poised to compete with the best in the world”.

A student of the school Mr. Paul Omosigho gave credence to the VC’s assertion. “BIU is the best choice to make out of all theological and biblical study or research centers because in this place you can discover, develop, build and establish your entire life with morals, ethics, characters and every necessary apparatus that can make you fulfil God’s design for your life”. Mr. Omosigho noted.

Other honorary doctorate awardees at the ceremony were HRM. Isaac Uvo, HRH. Murphy Urugbezi (JP), Afana Isibor and Eboigbe Chukwuyem. They all graced the occasion accompanied by families and friends.
