The Deputy Governor of Edo state, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, has congratulated former chairman, Legos state Sports Commission, Dr Kweku Adedayo Tandoh on his recent appointment as Chairman, Youth Committee of the African Table Tennis Federation (ATTF).

Dr Kweku’s appointment was announced on his birthday.

The sports loving Deputy Governor said he was happy with the appointment of Dr Tandoh just as he expressed confidence in the ability of the sports consultant to deliver on his new post and take African tennis to the next level.

According to the sports loving Deputy Governor of Edo, who was also recently honoured with the Sun Newspaper Sports Personality of the year award, enthused that he was not surprised by the appointment of Dr Tandoh by ATTF because he is aware of Tandoh’s immense contributions to the development of sports in Nigeria and abroad.

“I was not surprised by the appointment of Dr Kweku’ Tandoh as the chairman, Youth Committee of ATTF because he has worked with me and was part of the success story of the National Sports Festival, Edo 2020 and the recent Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament in Benin. He demonstrated his administrative and managerial acumen. This appointment is not just a reward for Dr Tandoh but also a huge responsibility that will spur him to do more at the Continental level, ” Shaibu said.

Dr Tandoh’s appointment was recently announced following a letter signed by the ATTF president, Khaled El-Salhy, which reads in parts, this appointment is due to your remarkable achievements within the African Table Tennis Federation.
