WARRI – Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa , has said that his administration will continue to focus on completing all existing projects across the state.

Dr. Okowa gave the assurance on Tuesday during the Quarterly Media Interaction with News Men across the state at the Government House Asaba .

While commending News Men across the state for their professionalism and level of cooperation at ensuring adequate reportage of the activities of Delta state government, the Governor prayed that , God continues to bless their tireless efforts.

Dr. Okowa while reeling out the achievements of his administration, said that , in spite of dwindling economic fortunes of the country, commissioning of various projects across the state was still on going, he made particular reference to the newly commissioned the state-of -the -art secretariat complex on Monday 29th Nov 2021 by the Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbanjo amongst others.

“We have continued to stay focused on our promises to Deltans, and we wish that we could have done faster than we are doing at the moment but unfortunately, our resources have continued to decline every day.

“However we have continued to ensure that the projects we already have ongoing we will continue to stay focused to make sure we deliver those projects and to God be the glory, one of the projects was commissioned yesterday by Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo,the new state-of-art -secretariat so the implication of that is that the various agencies of the government will have to be relocated to the the new secretariat.

“Now that we have all our ministries under one roof, that will give room for greater coordination of work flow, and it will also be of great help to our people who truly are visiting for one thing or the other as they will not have to journey from one place to the other in search of one services or the other in different ministries”. Okowa said.

On fuel subsidy, Dr. Okowa said, that it is a decision that has to be taken by the Federal government, a decision that has to go with the laws of the land.adding that there is a lots of complexity in the economy of this nation.

On the issues of the farmers that lost thousands of birds in their farms due to bird flu , Oghenejaname farms limited located at Ekrerhavwe Agbaroh,Iyanda farm in Orereokpe he promised his government will support those affected financially according to government capacity noting that government will not take the full financial responsibility.

The Governor promised to give attention to deplorable roads in Warri And Effurun metropolis.
